First Post!

Hello everyone. =)  In the past, online courses have been VERY difficult for me.  I am pretty good with technology and I used to work at the Geek Squad (computer repair section of Best Buy), but for some reason I could just never get the hang of online courses.  So far, I have taken about four.  As a teen and earlier in my twenties, I kept up a frequently updated online blog but I only visit it occasionally nowadays.  Personally, I would like to learn to become better at keeping up with online classes as well as how to become one of those teachers to whom incorporating technology in the classroom seems effortless.
This is me when I find out I have to take an online class:
This is me when I realize I haven't been keeping up with the online class:
But I will do better!:
This is the first picture of my on the computer!!:

  1. Ah! I love the picture of you as a child on a computer. Very cool that you found that and were able to include it here. I too kept a blog growing up, mostly during my angst-y days. LiveJournal? UJournal? DeadJournal? I remember learning the basics of HTML coding just so I could decorate my blog. You, too, must be glad to have another chance at it with these blogs. Looking forward to reading more of your posts throughout the semester!

    1. Haha thank you, I used to teach myself HTML too to decorate my webpages! I had a LiveJournal at some point.

  2. Love the pics on how you feel when you have to take an online course, and when you realize you haven't been keeping up with it. I feel the exact same way!! I say give me a 5 month course any day compared to an online course even if its just a 6 weeks online course. I am currently taking an online course in addition to this class which I guess would count as half an online course since we thankfully do meet in a classroom, and I can already see myself looking like the woman in picture two because I haven't created a schedule for myself yet and can already see myself forgetting to post and comment three times a week. But don't worry I think we will both make it this semester with our online courses.

  3. I agree! I would rather take a regular five month course. We will probably end up looking like the woman in the second picture, but you're right we will make it through especially if we create schedules for ourselves!

  4. lmao the pictures actually made me laugh out loud. I have never taken an online course, I'm holding off until I absolutely have to. I feel as though there is no way to replicate being in an actual classroom with someone instructing you. Most people that are going to be future educators probably share a similar perspective. Creative blog post!
